The meaning of Ilmaha is baby or newborn. Fair products for the little ones, handmade with a lot of love and precision.
We embrace and protect the baby's vulnerability. We also contribute to the well-being of the environment, which is of great importance for the future of our little ones.
Ilmaha means 'newborn' or 'baby' in Somali. The Somali language and culture is very familiar to us because Daphne is married to a Somali man. That also means that our (grand) children are half Somali.
One of the first steps we had to take when starting our business was to come up with a name. We decided to translate a few words into Somali and immediately fell in love with the word Ilmaha. A beautiful word with an appropriate meaning!
You may have already noticed, but you see several Somali influences emerging within our company. For example, there is a star in our logo, this is the same star as on the Somali flag. And our handmade pacifier cloths also have the shape of this star.
