Beware! This book is not what it seems! The story begins very sweet, with a ugly little duck that is different from his brothers and sisters, but soon it becomes clear that something is in the book that does not belong. Something bites ... It's a super big crocodile! First he begins to eat the letters and then he even takes a bite out of the cover ... That scary must turn out the book as soon as possible. But how? A hilarious story that invites toddlers to think and participate.
This book has been selected as one of the 10 most beautiful prints books of 2015!
"Once upon a time," and on the illustration next to it (and given the title page), you expect a recount of the fairy tale of the ugly duckling. But then at the bottom of the page appears the green tail of a crocodile. Soon the crocodile takes on more space. He even starts to eat letters, whole words, sentences. The ugly duckling tries to get the crocodile asleep and if that is successful, he signs a pink tutu with the animal. When the crocodile wakes up, he wants out the book and literally eats through the hindquarters. Extremely humourous picture book where readers and children will enjoy a lot of fun. Such a picture book that a child will ever ask for, because it is actively involved in the story (if the ugly duck wants the crocodile to sleep, the book is asked to rock the book gently). The lock is exciting, because the crocodile really tries to get out of the book. And when the toddler shakes the book well, crocodile knows a hole in the last page and the cover. Recommended. From about 4 years.
