PLA - Biobased Plastic is our new favorite material. PLA is made from renewable fibers from crops such as corn, wheat and sweet potatoes. It performs just like traditional plastic, but with the crucial advantage of being 100% compostable. At Fabelab we love the material because it is versatile, compostable and, best of all, not derived from preleum.
